What is Source?
Source is a new Charge Point Operator (CPO) in the UK and Republic of Ireland, providing rapid EV charging hubs.
Who are the parent companies behind Source?
Source is backed by two industry leaders: Europe's leading EV infrastructure and forecourt specialist, TotalEnergies, and the UK's largest generator of renewable energy and energy infrastructure specialist, SSE.
Where and when can I find Source charging hubs?
Our charging hubs are expanding across the UK and Republic of Ireland at convenient locations such as community areas, retail parks, and city centres. Check our website for a map of our current locations and upcoming installations which will be coming soon and announced on this page. Our existing hubs branded with SSE Energy Solutions will be rebranded over the next 6 - 12 months.
Are there plans to expand your network?
Within the next 5 years, Source will deploy up to 3000 Ultra Rapid charge points (of 150 kW and more) grouped in 300 EV hubs across the UK and Ireland. Charging hubs will be in prime locations in and around urban areas and powered by renewable energy. Stay tuned for announcements about new locations on our website and social media channels.
Can businesses partner with Source to install charging hubs?
Absolutely. We welcome partnerships with businesses, landlords, and local councils to expand our charging network. Please contact our land and partnerships team for more information.
How do I use a Source charging hub?
Simply drive up to a charging hub, connect your EV, and start charging. Our hubs support multiple payment methods including contactless “Tap & Go” payments, SourceConnect Mobile App, and RFID cards.

Yes. We currently accept Bonnet, Digital Charging Solutions, Octopus, Paua, Plugsurfing, Radius and Shell Recharge. Other roaming partners will join us in the future.
What types of EVs can be charged at your hubs?
Our charging hubs are compatible with all major electric vehicle models. They support both AC and DC fast charging standards, ensuring that your EV can be charged quickly and efficiently.
How long does it take to charge my EV?
Charging times vary depending on your vehicle and the level of charge needed. Our ultra rapid chargers can provide a significant charge in as little as 10 minutes.
How long can I charge at your charging stations?
Please refer to onsite parking restrictions as some sites will have parking enforcement in place. We urge all our customers to be considerate of other EV drivers, and to move their vehicle from the charging bay, as soon as the charging session has completed.
How do I get a receipt?
Please contact us via our contact form so we can send you a copy of your receipt. Please note that “Anonymous” Pay As You Go charges are not eligible for any receipt at all.
Is the energy used for charging renewable?
Yes, the energy used at our charging hubs comes from renewable sources, including wind, solar, and hydroelectric power, thanks to our parent company's extensive renewable energy network.
How does using renewable energy benefit the environment?
Charging your EV with renewable energy reduces greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier planet. It also supports the growth of sustainable energy infrastructure.
